Week Eight: Wrap up and Final Reflection
By Week Eight, you should have the basic elements to create your course syllabus and to plan your online course. This week, we will finish our work in the course by revising the materials we have created so far and reflecting on our work in the class.
|
In this final week of class, you will return to the activities that you have completed so far to revise them to reflect the feedback you have received from the professor and your peers and to incorporate new information you have learned since completing them. In addition, you will look at those completed materials and identify the ways that they reflect your understanding of the course outcomes and how well you met each one.

8.2 Final Cover Letter
|
For the final cover letter, I would like you to write a letter to me that identifies where in your course materials you met each of the learning outcomes for the course. Because there are 15 individual items listed as outcomes, you might choose to organize the letter around groups of items instead of writing an individual paragraph for each item. For example, you might identify the areas under Accessibility that you feel you really excelled and address those elements in one paragraph, and then you might select the areas under Accessibility where you struggled or still need work in another paragraph.
The key is to identify SPECIFIC places where you demonstrated an understanding of these outcomes. In other words, don't just say, "I demonstrated that I understood accessibility in my syllabus." Identify WHERE and HOW you demonstrated that understanding. In your final paragraph(s), share any elements of the course that were particularly helpful or unhelpful and do a short self-evaluation of where you feel you are as an online teacher. Include this Cover Letter in your Final Portfolio. |
